A Little About Us
Broad Shad Cay Lodge was built by Andros Island's fishing legend, Andy Smith, and is a great place to hunt big Bonefish. The Lodge is located on a private cay in the middle of North Bight, which is seven miles from the mainland of Behring Point.
Our fishing lodge has a unique location in the middle of the flats. All the activities here surround fishing on the flats, and the whole family can enjoy a fun filled fishing vacation. Each room overlooks the flats with views of the rising and setting sun. Rooms have two queen-size beds, under a beautiful exposed-timber ceiling, air conditioning, ceiling fans, dresser, closet, nightstand, reading lights, first-aid kit, and refrigerator stocked with soft drinks, juices, water, and the local beer, Kalik. There is an on-suite bathroom, supplied daily with fresh linen, rain shower head, and basic toiletries.
The lodge houses four fishermen at a time. We recommend that you book in advance.
Seasons Open: October 1st - June 15th
The second-best reason to come to Broad Shad Cay Lodge, right behind the great fishing, is to experience The Bahamas in complete privacy at its natural, unspoiled best. Free of roads or vehicles, we boast a network of man-made trails, Eco-friendly scenery, and Andros Rock. A wooden deck extending from the veranda of the lodge is the perfect place to watch sunsets and gaze at the stars at night. Let nature do the rest.

Owing to its unique location in the middle of the Bight. BSCL offers a saltwater flyfishing experience you simply can’t get anywhere else. For one, you can fish the rising tide all day– and hunt the big fish that follow it – from the moment you leave the dock. In fact, you might just catch one from the dock. Short boat runs mean a longer fishing day and the sense of solitude at BSCL is unbroken – it’s not uncommon to spend all day on the flats without seeing another boat.
Species: Bone fish, Tarpon, Permits, Barracuda, Snapper, Jacks and many more other species.
